Meet Lauren:

Lauren is a dedicated and highly qualified literacy specialist, ready to guide your child toward reading proficiency.

Goal

Lauren's mission is to make learning enjoyable and effective for each child. By unlocking the joy of reading, expanding children's literary horizons, and setting them on a path to lifelong success, Lauren strives to instill a love for reading that will last a lifetime.

Qualifications

An experienced educator, Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science from University of California, Irvine(UCI), a Master's degree in Bilingual Education(Spanish & English) from Loyola Marymount University and has taught Kindergarten and First Grade in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Lauren has international experience and has taught oversees in both Peru and Spain. She holds additional certifications for reading improvement, including LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) Volume I and II and Orton Gillingham training, ensuring lessons are based in research and the science of reading. With over a decade of experience working with students ages four to ten, Lauren possesses the expertise and dedication needed to transform children's reading abilities. Lauren has experience working with children who have dyslexia, children working below grade level, and children who want to improve their reading skills.

Engaging, Effective and Fun

At Reading Bridge Tutor, lessons focus on building the essential foundational skills needed for reading success. Through targeted instruction in phonemic awareness (ability to identify and manipulate individual speech sounds), phonics, irregular words, and reading fluency, each lesson caters to the unique learning style and needs of each child. Tutoring sessions are engaging, adaptive, and fun!
